Cornichon is a bar and bistro in Tarvin, Cheshire, about 4 miles from Chester, run by husband and wife Ben and Lisa, along with friend Jamie - who all relocated from Nottingham to open the restaurant in September 2015. The Gunnery is a Grade-II listed Georgian building that was once a family run corn merchants and grocers, the original shop fittings & one of the shop counters are still intact. Our menu is devised from what is in season & inspired by what we love to eat. We make everything we can in house, including our ice creams, sourdough bread & burger buns, bacon, black pudding, soft cheeses, cordials & syrups. We source our coffee through Adams & Russell, a small batch coffee roaster based in Birkenhead. Our meat is from Farmer's Meats in Chester, our real ale is from Weetwood & our frequently changing draught beers are usually from Wild Horse in Llandudno, Loka Polly in Mold & Mad Hatter in Liverpool. Much of our wine is sourced by the lovely Christopher at Covino (Rufus Court, Chester) who is an advocate of minimal intervention winemaking.
