Careers with us Whether you're working for an EU institution or an EU agency, the EU offers a stimulating and challenging workplace for everyone. The EU welcomes applicants from all walks of life, so a career with the EU means working with a diverse and multicultural group of colleagues. You will have the opportunity to make the most of your language skills, too. Most posts at the EU require that you speak at least two EU languages. Start a career with the EU and you will be able to further improve your language skills by attending language courses. Support will also be offered to all new members of staff to ensure that they realise their full potential in their chosen career. You meet colleagues from all 28 Member States on a daily basis. The multinational, multilingual working environment is very enriching and stimulating. You can also pursue opportunities to work in EU agencies based across Europe and EU delegations around the world.
Student options Opportunities abound for young students or recent graduates looking to gain work experience with the EU institutions. Depending on what stage you have reached with your studies, you could consider putting yourself forward as an EU student ambassador, applying for a traineeship, or becoming a permanent official with the EU. If you have freshly graduated from university, you will typically apply for what we term Administrator profiles, to become a permanent official. You can find yourself playing a key role in the EU's processes with a high degree of responsibility from an early stage in your career.
Find out how to apply, what we look for and how the selection process works HERE. As job opportunities arise, the EU institutions check the profiles of the successful candidates in order to identify those who best match their needs (for example, in terms of education, professional experience and language skills). The institutions may also choose to publish available vacancies to successful candidates of relevant selection procedures.
