Graduate Design Engineer

Job Description

CWM Automation is a specialist machinery manufacturer, supports external customers within the food and various FMCG industries, including design internal machinery for the Hexadex group. We now require a Design Engineer you will undertake a varied role, working on projects of all sizes from small machine alterations to complete bespoke solutions. The role involves creating and prove concepts, supporting customers through manufacture to commissioning. You will complete this through mechanical design whilst utilising electrical and pneumatic components. Playing a key part in developing effective solutions to customer requirements, whilst being cost effective and keeping to timescales. Inter-departmental communication will be a large part of the role to gain guidance and approval on designs as well as ensuring components are manufactured correctly. Occasionally the role may be required to visit sites that may require overnight stops. Develop solutions and assist with quoting/tendering process Develop conceptual designs to create effective solutions Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with BS8888 Keep up to date with industry regulations and ensure products & designs comply Produce accurate bill-of-materials Providing project updates and getting approval on all new designs About you: Qualified in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, Degree etc) Internship or practical experience as a Design Engineer, would be advantageous Experience of 3D CAD packages such as Solidworks, Inventor or Solidedge A user of ERP/MRP systems would be desirable Proficient with Microsoft Office Practical hands-on approach to testing concepts D esigning automated manufacturing machinery is desirable Able to multi-task as working on multiple projects may be required Must be able to identify and solve problems effectively A keen aptitude to develop and learn As a Graduate we offer support to develop your skills further, you must however be able to design.
