        Transport links & getting around

Nestled between London and the English Channel, Kent is the perfect location if you like a day trip. London is only 38 minutes away by train, while France is just a short ferry-ride away.

You can get around Kent easily via its bus service, connecting all the major towns and cities.

        Cost of living here

A one-bedroom property in Kent will cost about £724 per calendar month, while a two-bedroom property will be about £1019 pcm. However, Kent is a large area, so you should be able to find cheaper places if you look!

        Nightlife

Kent is about as British as Britain gets, so of course there are thousands and thousands of classic British pubs dotted around. Local cities like Canterbury and Maidstone have several nightclubs if you're looking to cut loose for a night.

        Notable Attractions

Kent is famous for its historical sites. Among them, is Leeds Castle near Caterbury, which offers guided tours through the castle. Perhaps you could unlock the secret as to why Leeds Castle is in Canterbury and not Leeds.

You can also take a serene walk along the White Cliffs of Dover. Take in the beautiful white flint and the traces of history along the edge of the sea. For example, try and find the wrecks of the SS Falcon and the the Preuβen, still nestled on the edge of the water below the cliffs.

If you're more of a thrill seeker, Margate's Dreamland is an amusement park filled with fun rollercoasters. Dreamland often is host to music festivals and concerts too. Alternatively, wander down to the beach and soak in some sunshine.
