          Oxford is a small city, and while lots of locals opt to travel around the city by bike, it's also easily accessible on foot and by bus. With a well-connected train station, it is also easy to get from Oxford to major cities around the country such as London, Birmingham and Manchester.

          Renting Prices

          The average rent of Oxford properties is £1,935 pcm(per calendar month), with one-bed flats averaging at £1,374 pcm. While the prices are generally quite steep, there are some more affordable places to rent here, particularly if you avoid the city's period properties and opt for houses and flats built since the 1950s.

          Nightlife

          With its high student population, Oxford has a great nightlife, offering everything from quiet pubs to high-energy clubs with a few quirky gems tucked away from the tourist hotspots.

          One popular choice is Turf Tavern, an 18th-Century Grade II listed inn that was featured on TV's Inspector Morse. Located down an alleyway off the city centre, this hidden away pub is extremely popular with locals. Oxford's biggest nightclub, Atik, is another favourite among students. Based in a recently renovated furniture warehouse, the club has a capacity of 1200 and has music for all tastes from R'n'B to Dance to Cheese.

          A walk up the steps to the top of University Church of St Mary the Virgin will lead to a wide-spanning view of the city of Oxford. Dominated by the incredible architecture of Oxford University colleges, the city is full of historical attractions.

          Among the leading museums and galleries in the city are the Ashmolean, the Pitt Rivers and Modern Art Oxford.
