Swansea is easy to reach, particularly from London and Welsh locations such as Cardiff, Carmarthen and Llanelli. Whether by car (it's by the M4), train, or even airplane, it's well connected, and internal bus routes make travelling around the city straightforward.

The name refers to its history of not having a sign to identify its alcohol licence when it was a legal requirement for public houses to do so - this was because it was a bar rather than a public house, and the name has continued to stick.

As well as Swansea Bay which draws people in with its expansive, idyllic views, the National Waterfront Museum is a major attraction in the city. It's free entry, focusing on the history of Wales' role in the Industrial Revolution. Also considering Swansea's maritime heritage, the museum displays interactive technology alongside objects from its industrial, maritime and mining histories.

For further history, you can visit Swansea Museum or the castle, or alternatively the city's range of parks and beaches are ideal for quiet days out.
