          A zoologist will:

          What hours does a Zoologist typically do?

          You hours will depend on the type of research you undertake. Those working in industry research can expect to work typical office hours of 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, whilst those working as field researchers need to work flexible hours, including nights if animals are nocturnal. Those working in higher education will work 9am - 6pm, Monday to Friday, although will be expected to work overtime.

          How much does a Zoologist travel?

          Some roles may involve traveling around the country or even living overseas for extended periods, whilst others will be in a dedicated work space and involve little travel.

          How much does a Zoologist get paid?

          The salary you can expect as a zoologist vary greatly depending on the role and the company employing you, but in general starting salaries are between £18,000 and £25,000 a year.

          After you gain some experience this can increase to between £25,000 and £30,000 a year, with the most senior zoologists earning in excess of £45,000 a year.

          What qualifications does a Zoologist need?

          The basic educational requirement to become a zoologist is an undergraduate degree in a related subject. However, the majority of applicants also have a postgraduate degree in a related subject.
