Job Description

Job title: Graduate Recruitment Adviser School/Function: Graduate Outcome Careers Team Responsible to: Graduate Outcomes Manager Responsible for: Mentoring / supporting students to secure a professional occupation and drive positive graduate outcomes About the Company: This is a new post based in the Graduate Outcomes Career Team. The post holder will work closely with stakeholders including: the Graduate Outcomes Manager and team, Director Student Experience, academic staff, Work Placement Coordinators and employers to coach, support and prepare Regent College London (RCL) students to secure graduate level, professional occupations and / or progress to suitable further study. The post holder will be responsible for establishing, implementing and coordinating relevant contemporary careers support and progression processes. This will include identifying opportunities, building relevant relationships, developing key skills, creating and providing career coaching and support to ensure students can obtain interviews to secure relevant roles and to recording student progression outcomes. This will be a varied, interesting, and challenging role, which will require flexibility, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and the ability to priorities to meet deadlines to the required quality standards. Responsibilities: Work in partnership with Graduate Outcomes Manager and team to establish a relevant programme of career and progression support for graduating students. Establish and maintain channels of communication with all relevant students to ensure that you can deliver career coaching and professional job support needs across all our campuses in a flexible way. Campus sites include: Holborn, Great Titchfield Street, Wembley, Kingsbury, Harrow, Southall. Create the mechanisms / processes / toolkits to prepare our students (in person, digital online and digital on demand) and ensure they gain relevant career / recruitment and progression coaching and advice to support their success both in groups and also one to one sessions. Co-ordinate the collection of data as required. Including maintenance of relevant student records and appointments, interviews and outcomes and provision of accurate statistical data for internal and external requirements. This may include maintenance of paper records, where appropriate. Provide a ‘one-stop’ shop for student career queries. Co-ordinate the provision of accurate advice to staff and students on recruitment, careers, further study and progression related matters. Demonstrate and share up to date knowledge on the current and future career / job landscape, relevant websites, application formats, CV requirements, networking opportunities, interview techniques and employer expectations. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as Academic Registry, Work Placement Team, Academic Schools and Faculty, Alumni, Recruitment Agents and Services, Employers and Employer Careers/ Recruitment services etc. on various matters relating to the provision of effective and efficient careers and recruitment information and guidance. Monitor and measure success against Office for Students KPIs working with Academic Registry and Data teams. Contribute to reviews and evaluations of progression and careers processes and systems, ensuring the provision of a cost-effective high-quality service, writing reports when required. Work without direct supervision, delegating and prioritising workload as appropriate. Undertake administrative duties as required by the role. Attend and participate in meetings and working groups as appropriate, including representing team / department, when required. Qualifications: Educated to degree level and / or to have relevant work experience. Prepared to undergo Enhanced DBS check. Required Skills: Experience in career coaching and recruitment preparation for professional occupations / graduate level roles. Ability to work without direct supervision exercise initiative and independent judgement. Effective organising and prioritising skills enable you to work successfully under pressure and meet deadlines. Self-motivated and flexible you are able to work independently in a reliable fashion and successfully as part of a team. Able to pay attention to detail. Able to maintain total confidentiality. A demonstrable ability to build rapport to quickly develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels and in different environments. Excellent communication skills both oral and written enable you to deliver fantastic customer care in person, on the phone and by email. Preferred Skills: Experience of key sectors e.g. Business Management and Law (also Health, Nutrition, Sport Science, Computing, Engineering). Experience of working in a careers centre within a University or HEI. Experience of report writing. Technical Knowledge & Skills: Experienced in the use of databases, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience of CV development requirements and career support including LinkedIn. You will have the confidence and skills required to implement new systems & procedures effectively.
