We offer first class placement and internship opportunities, generally in smaller businesses, right across the UK. Placements are ‘project-based’ and last between 8-12 weeks over the summer vacation for undergraduates and throughout the year for recent graduates. Step provides the ideal opportunity to get that first bit of credible work experience to add to your CV.
If you think an internship has to be unpaid and exploitative – then think again. Developed in response to the difficulties faced by students and graduates, our highly-acclaimed placements are based on the successful ‘Step’ formula, and supported by the Government through the Department for Business and Skills.
All of our placed students and graduates receive a training allowance of £840 every four weeks, free from Tax and National Insurance deductions; in addition all placed candidates are entitled to paid leave in line with the legal requirement.
You will be supported throughout by one of our professional placements team, who source the opportunities, match suitable candidates and deal with all the admin. Our placements team consists of Kevin Cumming, Sarah Palmer, Laura Stratford and Andrew Church. Between them they have nearly 20 years recruitment experience and over 10 years experience specifically in the graduate market.
We aim to offer meaningful paid work experience that will allow you to develop the skills you have learnt at university in a commercial environment. It is hoped that by undertaking a Step placement you will be able to kick start your career and go on to secure permanent employment.
