Solaglas is the largest distributor, processor and installer of glass related products and systems in the UK. Formed in 1984 following the merger of two long established glass companies, Clark Eaton and Doulton Glass, Solaglas became part of the Saint-Gobain group in 1990, enabling it to draw on the vast global resources of the world's leader in building products.

Here at Saint-Gobain Glass and Solaglas we not only believe in developing our existing managers, but also consider it essential to introduce 'new blood' into the business who have the potential to become our leaders of the future. This is why each year we recruit a number of graduates onto our Graduate Management Development Programme who we believe, within five years, will have gained sufficient experience, training and confidence to manage a specific part of our business and then continue upwards to general management.
Achieving this will be via one of two paths; the Sales and Marketing / Commercial route, or the Engineering / Production route. Both are valid and the company needs a mix of both types but if you are to be a true General Manager, you will eventually have to be competent at a broad range of activities. During your first five years with the company, your career will be managed carefully in consultation with you to provide a broad foundation that will be of use to you later in your career. You are likely to have three real jobs at any of our sites across the UK and Ireland, so mobility is an essential.
