Performance is monitored through targets, KPI's and appraisals so you must be prepared to put in the effort to get the results. It is a competitive and challenging industry so you need to be flexible and resilient and be able to take the rough with the smooth – a half glass empty attitude does not work well in property! Expectations and standards are high so a professional approach to work, your colleagues and our customers is essential. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.

From day one with us, you become a member of our well-established and successful Foundation Academy, which gives you a solid base on which to build your career in estate agency. All aspects of agency are covered, with areas to be signed off by your manager to ensure your success going forward. After the Foundation Academy, we can offer places in various other academies, including the Estate Agency Academy, which identifies new talent and fast tracks individuals through to management positions and our Management Academy, which further develops the skills and capabilities of our managers.
Career Development & Progression: If you are looking for a clear career path, with challenging but achievablegoals to help you move forward, then look no further. As a graduate, you would join Townends as a Trainee Sales/Lettings Negotiator. After successful completion of your probation period (usually 6 months) you receive your first promotion and lose the "Trainee" title and become a Negotiator. After this, clear targets will be set to help you reach the next steps up the ladder. With this in mind, our clear career progression is as follows:
