Transport for London
ABOUT TRANSPORT FOR LONDON London is one of the busiest, most cosmopolitan and fastest growing cities in the world. Our job at Transport for London (TfL) is to keep it moving.
Without us London would stand still. We don't just take millions of people to work or to the shops each day - we provide essential infrastructure, services and support on which the entire city depends. Through continued investment we're also helping to build a strong and sustainable future for the Capital.
CIVIL ENGINEERING YEAR IN INDUSTRY
A student placement at TfL will give you the opportunity to be a part of shaping a world class city. We are currently looking for talented Civil Engineers to join us on this year’s placement working on an infrastructure that dates back more than 150 years. We are undergoing the biggest period of change for more than 40 years and as a Civil Engineer you will be implementing these changes. Current projects include many differing aspects of civil engineering including demolition, tunnelling, pre-cast and cast insitu concrete works and client station engineering and management. Working with us for a year could contribute to meeting some of the criteria for becoming chartered when you graduate.
Entry requirements: We are seeking application from students working towards a minimum of a 2:1 in an MEng degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering (or a closely aligned discipline), accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers.
You will be paid for working full time and also get free travel on the TfL network while you are with us. A student placement with TfL will also put you in a strong position when applying for the TfL Graduate scheme. You will gain valuable experience and you will also have the chance to fast track through the graduate application process to the final stages.
