Job Title: Physics/Engineering Graduate – Optics/Holography Company: TruLife Optics Location : Leeds, West Yorkshire Job Type: Full-Time - from £28K PA depending on experience Job Description We are seeking a motivated and adaptable graduate of Physics, Engineering or similar, to join our team. Experience in industry/research is welcomed but not necessary. You will play a key role, where you will be responsible for the manufacture and quality control of master holograms using state-of-the-art lasers and optics. You will learn to operate a range of equipment, from lasers and spectrometers, to motion control stages and roll-to-roll production machinery. You will be involved in a range of projects where you will contribute to the development, design and prototyping of new holographic systems and machinery. This role requires work within a cleanroom environment, where adherence to protocol is important to ensure the highest product quality. Training will be provided for all current machinery and processes. You will primarily be based at our main manufacturing site in Allerton Bywater, West Yorkshire which is close to Castleford and Leeds with good access to A1 and M62 motorways. Occasional travel to our other sites in Leeds and Oldham may also be required. Main Tasks: · Construction and alignment of optical/holographic setups. · Manufacturing master holograms with precision and attention to detail · Measurement and quality control of holograms. · Operating production machinery for copying holograms. · Using converting machinery for roll-to-roll materials. · Research and development activities and prototyping. Additional Tasks: Using laser cutters and markers, 3D printers, motion control systems, spectrometers, machine vision systems. Essential Requirements: · Degree in Physics, Engineering or similar. · Adaptable and versatile, with a willingness to learn new skills. · Good initiative and ability to manage own workload. · Good manual dexterity and attention to detail. · Ability to prepare slides in PowerPoint, take good lab notes and summarise. · Right to work in the UK. · Own method of transport. Desirable: · Experience in a laboratory or technological setting. · Experience with lasers and/or optical alignment. · Experience in optical design (Zemax), measurement and/or spectrometry · Use of CAD software and interpreting technical drawings · Familiarity with Electronics and electrical wiring · Programming skills in (e.g. Python) · Experience with process automation / machine vision.
